Patrick Lecaque is a Professer of French and the Director of the Center for International Education at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, U.S.A. He is the author of numerous articles on the history and art of Medieval Bulgaria. He studied Bulgarian Philology and Civilization at the Ecole Nationale des Langues Orientales in Paris, France with Professer Roger Bernard and Byzantine Art History at the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes, V° section, in Paris, with Professer Suzy Dufrenne and with Acad. Ivan Dujcev in Bulgaria. He received his Ph.D. in Art History at the Sorbonne University, in Paris, in 1985. He received a Doctor Honoris Causa degree from the University of Veliko Turnovo in Bulgaria in 2004.
