An unknown cataclysm has wiped out thousands of marine animals and nearly 200 people on aboard a cruise ship, Maeve Fletcher, a descendant of Betsy and Jess is luckily rescued by Dirk Pitt. Pitt discovers the carnage leads back to Maeve's father, Arthur Dorsett and his global diamond operations.
