Containing more than 100 projects, most designed within the last ten years, this book offers a snapshot of South African architecture and an insight into the various social, political and economic influences that have moulded recent work. The period covered here has been one of political transition within a bleak economic climate. Serious unrest in a country in the throes of reform and change has been exacerbated by international economic sanctions and disinvestment.
